Air Zimbabwe Strike Ends
24 Sep 2011: The Air Zimbabwe pilots strike which was started on 29th July this year finally reaches to an end after 6 weeks long negotiations and meetings between pilots and the airline management staff. The acting Chief Executive of Air Zimbabwe, Mavhunga said that although the strike has ended on 16th of this month but flights will resume by 23rd as there are no reservations for the flights to resume immediately.
Air Zimbabwe hopes at returning the airlines operations to normal capacity by the end of this month. Air Zimbabwe operates a daily Harare-Johannesburg route, a twice-weekly flight to London and a weekly flight to Beijing, China. The 6 weeks long strike by pilots has hard hit the airline reputation as well as the tourism sector of the state.
