Air Zimbabwe Strike Prolonged, Assets Attached by Court

Air Zimbabwe’s assets and vehicles are attached because they owe US $400,000 in form of unpaid salaries and allowances.Assets attached by Deputy Sheriff included 100 computer sets, 5 milling machines and ten lathe machines along with vehicles which includes, Toyota 75-seater, Toyota mini bus, Mercedes Bens ML270, four Mercedes Benz kompressors, three Mazda 323s and two Mazda Eagles. Other vehicles which are seized contains a Mazda B 1800, Opel Astra, Mazzda 3 , one Nissan Sunny, pick up trucks and two Mazda 626s.
Total figure of all the attached assets is increased to US$427 412,53, when commissions and services costs were added. Some of the Airline’s assets were attached in November during last Air Zimbabwe Strike but they were not being auctioned because of some legal challenges.
Air Zimbabwe tried to stop the attachment of assets but Deputy Sheriff attached the assets on Friday, and now they can be auctioned any time by the people whom Air Zimbabwe Owe. Air Zimbabwe is already going through the bad circumstances, Airline suffers with 3.5 Million US Dollars monthly loss and the attachment and auctioning of the assets will paralyze the struggling Airline
