Air Zimbabwe will resume in a day or two, Said David Mwenga

Air Zimbabwe Flights will hopefully resume in a day or two, said Mwenga. As US $400,000 are attached by the court and striking pilots are able to auction them, now strike must come to an end and Air Zimbabwe Flights should resume. On the other side Labor Court of Zimbabwe has ordered striking pilots and cabin crew to resume their jobs because Air Zimbabwe Strike which enters week three is now illegal because striking pilots and cabin crew have got US $ 400,000 in form of assets.

Labor Expert Davies Sibanda said that striking pilots should get back to work else they will be penalized by the airline.

"If they go back to work they may be able to pursue the matter and end up obtaining a court order allowing them to attach and sell the airline property to cover outstanding salaries and allowances," Sibanda said.

Air Zimbabwe strike which started 23 Mar 2011 over the salary and allowances issue is about to come to an end as per Mwenga’s statement.
 
“ The strike will be over soon might be in a day or two, Air Zimbabwe will resume its flights and we have almost solved the dispute with striking pilots and cabin crew”
